Getting started

1

Install Feather

The extension sends content to Feather, the native Windows Markdown editor. If you don't have it yet:

Download Feather for Windows
2

Enable the browser extension server

In Feather, open SettingsLocal integrations → turn on Browser extension. This starts a small localhost server the extension uses to communicate.

3

Start capturing

Click the Feather icon in your toolbar, use the keyboard shortcuts, or right-click any page for the context menu. Content arrives in Feather instantly.

How it works

Smart extraction

Uses Mozilla Readability to strip away navigation, ads, and clutter. The result is clean, readable Markdown. Special handling for GitHub (fetches raw Markdown) and Stack Overflow (preserves Q&A structure).

Saved Links inbox

Every “Save link” adds a timestamped entry to a running Markdown file in Feather. Your bookmarks live alongside your notes, searchable and editable.

Rich metadata

Automatically extracts OpenGraph, Twitter Card, and meta tags from each page. Enable YAML frontmatter to capture title, author, published date, and more. Customize per-site with template rules.

Secure by design

Localhost only. Origin-checked so web pages can't connect. All HTML is sanitized through DOMPurify before conversion. No data leaves your machine. No account required.

Works everywhere

Chrome, Edge, Brave, Arc, Vivaldi, Firefox. One extension, every Chromium browser plus Firefox. No native messaging host, no registry entries, no installer.
