Focus & Compact Mode
Focus Mode
Focus Mode is a distraction-free, fullscreen writing environment. All window chrome is hidden so you can concentrate on your writing.
Entering Focus Mode
- Press F11, or
- Go to View > Focus Mode
How It Works
- The editor goes fullscreen with all UI elements hidden
- Your text is centered on screen at a configurable width
- Typewriter scrolling keeps the active line centered vertically as you type
- Focus Mode works in Edit view mode only
Configuring Width
You can adjust how wide the editor area is in Focus Mode:
- Open Settings > Focus Mode
- Use the width slider to set a value between 600px and 1400px
- Changes apply immediately
Exiting Focus Mode
- Press F11 or Escape to return to the normal editor
Compact Mode
Compact Mode gives you a minimal interface without going fullscreen. It's useful when you want less UI clutter but still need access to other windows.
Entering Compact Mode
- Go to View > Compact Mode
What Changes
- The title bar, toolbar, and tab strip are hidden
- A minimal control bar appears with a view mode toggle
- The window stays at its current size and position
Exiting Compact Mode
- Press Escape to return to the normal interface
Good to Know
- Both modes preserve your document state — nothing is lost when entering or exiting
- Compact Mode is useful for small windows or secondary displays where screen space is limited
- Focus Mode is best for longer writing sessions where you want zero distractions
